Our MIASA Spring special at the KC Berlin Lounge with gourmet chef Arne Behnck
It’s that time of year again; Spring is just around the corner and we cordially invite you to join us on our extraordinary journey. Here at MIASA, we’re welcoming this inspiring season with our new theme – Colour Explosions – and so we have created an experience event all about the fascination that is saffron.
Together with gourmet chef Arne Behnck from Berlin, we start off our Four Season Special 2014 with a three course Saffron menu that’s designed to not only tantalise your taste buds but to wow and surprise as well. Find out more about Saffron’s diversity, its origins, and its many application and combination possibilities.
For over nine years now, Arne Behnck has been treating his culinary gourmet guests to his extraordinary, quality cooking evenings in the relaxed ambience of the KC Lounge. Before Behnck returned with his creative ideas to the capital from London in 2004, he was, amongst others things, a finalist in the successful BBC TV show “Masterchef” in 2000.
Behnck focuses on authenticity, finesse and quality. Three principles that match the properties of MIASA Saffron perfectly. He is a gourmet and bon vivant and impresses with both his nutritional expertise and his passion for cooking, as well as through his deep-founded knowledge about food and combining the finest ingredients.
What does Arne Behnck associate with Saffron?
“Great delight, because of its distinctive and unique taste. As the most expensive spice in the world, I connect saffron with taste explosions both sweet and savoury dishes. It’s to be used sparingly, not necessarily because of its price but because of its intensity. For us at KC, it is the intrinsic flavour of foods that is of most importance. For saffron that means lifting its unique flavour with a hint of anticipation in perfect harmony with the other ingredients of the dishes.”

Here’s a little taste of what you can expect in our Spring-Special:
Saffron-Risotto with shrimps and green asparagus
Slices of marinated chicken breast with saffronnaise, served with roasted rosemary potatoes and grape tomatoes in a courgette wrap
For our vegetarian guests, the main course is served with grilled goat’s cheese
Saffron-Pannacotta with tarragon topping and Cassis-Confit
