Saffron Gin and Tonic
A hint of saffron is sure to make this famous British long drink "your cup of gin". Delicate oriental saffron gives this classic "highball" – a cocktail with only one base note – a third ingredient that imbues the drink with an exotic dark yellow colour. Ingredients

| Ice cubes | ||||
| 3 | saffron threads |  | ||
| 1 | organic lime |
Preperation
Pour ice cubes into a long-drink glass and fill up with tonic water and gin. |
Coarsely grind the saffron threads by hand or slightly grind in a mortar, sprinkle into the glass and stir briefly. |
Serve with a slice of lime. |
For special effect, put one saffron thread into each pocket of an ice cube maker and carefully fill with water – use for the long drink.
